REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government has made its decision regarding the existance of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI). Coordinating Ministry of Politics, Legal and Security Affairs, Wiranto, said the government will dismiss the organization.
"The decision was made with a number of consideration for the sake of nation security and order," Wiranto said at a press conference in his office, Jakarta, Monday (May 8).
According to Wiranto, the government needed to take a firm legal action against HTI. He will take the case through judicial process. "We will definetely comply with the existing rule," he remarked.
The government saw HTI as civic organization has presented any positive role in developing the nation. Besides, HTI activities were indicated as contradicted with the state ideology and Constitution. "HTI also a threat to security and order in the society," he said.
